Itinerary:

On entering Pretoria city centre for the "1 day Heritage and Historical Pretoria", we visit the historic Church Square with its beautiful buildings and the Kruger Statue. We visit the Melrose House, a three-storey stately Victorian mansion complete with turrets and Dutch gables erected in 1886, which played an important role during the Anglo-Boer Wars. The Voortrekker Monument follows to study the Pioneer history of South Africa and the history of the Afrikaner (Lunch en-route not included). We traverse to the Sammy Marks Museum for a guided tour through the Marks Mansion. Visitors hear the story of Sammy Marks and his family, their experience throughout the South African War and Marks’s achievements as businessman and entrepreneur. The Union Buildings concludes this rich South African heritage excursion.
